POUNAMU QUEENSLAND
We are a 100% Australia owned company. Our Pounamu is sourced from Authentic New Zealand Pounamu supplier and carved on the Sunshine Coast by Pounamu Queensland owner, Dion Barclay. Our stocked products are supplied by 100% New Zealand owned and operated businesses, who support Maori mahi and culture.
MADE TO ORDER AND PRE-ORDER SALES INFORMATION
Pre-Order
Our Pre-order pieces are made specifically for you, our client, so please allow us time to bring your vision to life. The timeframe for your pre-order piece (the "Pre-Order") is approximately 2 to 6 weeks from order approval, however this can vary depending on our workload. Exceptions to this timeframe can be made for urgent requirements and will be assessed on a case by case basis. Design changes will cost $100.00 per change.
Design
Our custom pieces are made specifically for you, our client, so please allow us time to bring your vision to life. Design appointments can take up to 1.5 hours. The timeframe for your custom piece (the "Custom Order") is approximately 4 to 8 weeks from design approval, however this can vary depending on our workload. Exceptions to this timeframe can be made for urgent requirements and will be assessed on a case by case basis. Further design changes will cost $100.00 per change.
Repair Your Taonga
If you would like to have a taonga repaired, you agree that there is reasonable risk involved in repairing and carving an existing pounamu then restringing them. It is the responsibility of Pounamu Queensland to assess any risk regarding your taonga, and advise you on any foreseeable issues before moving forward with your taonga.
By providing consent for Pounamu Queensland to repair / restring a taonga, you hold harmless Pounamu Queensland against any taonga damage due to pounamu flaws or existing pounamu cracks, chipping, flaws, or inclusions.
Approval
Once you are happy with your design we require written approval from you so we can begin the creation process. Written approval can be given either via email, or in person.
Deposit for Custom Carvings / Major Repair
You are required to pay a 50% non-refundable deposit of the quoted order price. Pounamu Queensland's receipt of the approval and deposit indicates your acceptance of both the description of the Custom Order and its quoted price.

A Custom Order cannot be cancelled once a deposit has been paid. All cancellations will forfeit the deposit.
Collection
You can collect your Custom Order once the final payment has been received by us at Pounamu Queensland. Final payment can be made via electronic transfer, or it can be made on the day of collection.
Returns
Please choose carefully, Custom Orders cannot be returned or refunded. All items are made to order, therefore exchanges or returns are not offered for change of mind. Deposits are non-refundable. Pounamu Queensland can however, on a case by case basis, make minor changes to your design, within reason, even after we have started making your piece.

FAIR TRADING ACT 1989
Where the provisions of the Fair Trading Act 1989 apply, these terms will be read subject to the application of that Act, and in the case of any conflict, the provisions of that Act will apply.
STOCK AVAILABILITY
If an item is out of stock, we will email you within 2 working days of placing your order. Please email admin@pounamuqueensland.com.au to check stock availability if delivery of your order is urgent.
CUSTOM SALES TAX AND DUTY
It is the responsibility of the person purchasing to be aware of the Sales and Duty Tax regulations for the country where their purchase is being delivered. As each country has different regulations and Pounamu Queensland is not responsible for any payments for Sales and Duty Tax, which the parcel may incur upon arrival. Please see our Shiiping & Returns section for more info.

Pounamu Queensland reserves the right to accept or reject your offer for any reason, including, without limitation, the unavailability of any product description posted on this website, an error in your order or a failure in your payment.
ORDER NOTIFICATION
Upon receipt of your order, Pounamu Queensland will issue you with an e-mail notification listing the items ordered, the total quantity of product, shipping charges, delivery address, estimated shipping times, and shipping carrier. This will not include any customs duties, local taxes or bank fees. This is a confirmation that we have received your order, not a confirmation of acceptance or processing.
You will receive a second email when your order has been shipped and is in transit to you. This email will include a tracking number for your reference.
